You against me in a baseball competition, heads up. We each make 50 plays before the trip to Vegas and the loser puts 2 dimes in the winners hand as we shake for the first time. No questions asked. I like contests and you versus me sounds like fun. We can even post them here or in the baseball forum so all can witness. If your wife allows you to play for a little more than we can talk about that as well. Your word is good by me.

For the record I must be an idiot as ever since I took this job I have been getting my teeth kicked in. I am 1-4 and the only winner I hit was a huge chalk play which should have never been bet to begin with. On the bright side I figure in 4 months of working here I will almost have earned back the 2 dimes I made so why not give it back to you. A simple yes or no Ken, I don't want to hear any excuses. Plus I know in baseball you are on your own this time of year as far as plays go, LOL.

I must admit I have my own selfish reasons. I am looking for motivation to get back on track. The Record Keeper has monitored me for the last year and a half and he knows I am usually pretty consistant. I can't hit a winner with tomorrows newspaper right now. This should be easy money for you Ken. Plus I am searching for something to get my edge back.

First of all, I'd like to say that whoever is making "the line" on a match between Patrick McIrish vs. The Shrink needs to have their head examined by a Psychiatrist...

I am nothing but an "old fart, a has been that never was", so to speak...

I used to play Fantasy Baseball but due to other obligations and finishing out of the money so often, I gave this up two years ago, so I could spend more time "chilling out" during the summer.

Heck, I don't even know how many "outs' there are in an inning and I don't know how many points the average baseball team scores.

Do Field Goals count as 3 points like they do in Hockey?

But being the good sport that I am, I will accept your offer if certain conditions are met:

1) Since I travel a lot, there will be periods of time that I won't be able to post any plays. For example, I already know I will be out of town from the 12th of June through the 16th.

2) I need somone to furnish me a brand "NEW" dartboad, because in order to pick a baseball team, such as the Jets, or the Penguins, I will work on my dart throwing ability...

3) I will gladly accept the 2 dime wager, but I think you should be giving me some type of odds. Maybe take the number of years that separates us in age and add it to the odds so that if you are 10 years younger than my old age of 47, then I should be getting 10-1 odds, ok?

4) Finally, since Baseball REALLY is my worst sport gambling wise (funny how that is since I only bet into a ten cent line), I want to limit the number of bets we must place per day to a number no higher than 3 and no lower than 1.

Patrick, I am shaking now because of the idea of you humiliating me again in my own forum.

It was bad enough how you tortured my ass every time you used to come in here and pick on me, but now you are even a bigger favorite to hammer my sorry ass at gambling...

Call me a sucker for even trying to spar with you, but since you asked for it, I just can't turn this down...

Now perhaps the oddsmakers will adjust the lines, and maybe, just maybe, a sports book will volunteer to accept wagers on this before we start.
